It ranks first as Italian hospital in the Specialist Newsweek ranking
March 14th, 2024First Italian orthopaedic hospital and eighth in the world in the specific ranking of Newsweek. It is the result obtained by the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute of Bologna in the annual ranking of the US magazine dedicated to the best hospitals distinguished by specialties.
"This ranking confirms the recognition of Rizzoli as a reality of high specialization in the international scene, the close integration between clinic care and research that has always characterized the Institute allows us to constantly offer new opportunities for treatment and to contribute to the progress of medicine - commented the Director General of Rizzoli Anselmo Campagna. – In addition of the publication of this ranking, other prestigious awards to our specialists, recently awarded at the most important orthopaedic congress worldwide".
In the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, which was held this year in San Francisco with over twenty thousand members, the Rizzoli was protagonist with the award of many professionals of the Institute.
Stem cell reconstruction of ankle cartilage lesions, knee osteotomies, ankle osteochondral lesions, total hip arthroplasty, Sprengel’s shoulder in pediatric age also called high congenital scapula are among the pathologies and orthopedic techniques treated in the works presented by the Institute. The awards received were five, including an honorable mention.
In San Francisco Rizzoli was represented by the groups of the directors of the: Clinic I Cesare Faldini, Prosthetic Surgery Francesco Traina, Pediatric Orthopaedics Gino Rocca - In the last month, the team also engaged in the care of children from the Gaza Strip - Clinic II Stefano Zaffagnini, Spine Surgery Alessandro Gasbarrini, Orthopaedics Bentivoglio Massimiliano Mosca and Orthopaedics and Traumatology Rizzoli-Argenta Matteo Romagnoli.
