He assisted Dr. Aldo Toni, in clinical and surgical activities, in the evaluation, study and intervention of hip, knee and hip replacement implants.
He was a freelance contractor doctor from September 2012 to June 2014 at the SC of Prosthetic Surgery and Hip and Knee Revision, and since June 2014 he has been hired with a permanent contract at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute with the qualification of Medical Director. During this period and to date it carries out clinical and scientific activities in the study and improvement of surgical techniques of: total hip replacement, hip prostheses revision, arthroscopic knee surgery, total knee replacement. From 2014 to today (July 2022) he has performed as the first operator about 200 total hip replacements with the minimally invasive technique with rapid post-operative recovery. He is currently a collaborator of the MOM clinic for the periodic clinical and radiographic evaluation of patients with hip prostheses and / or metal-to-metal coupling. Since 2019 it has developed and increased a path already started previously related to ultrasound-guided infiltration and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration techniques. In this regard, he participated in various courses including the "Joint Injection Skilled" held on November 15/16 2021 at Pieve Emanuele. In addition, Dr Maurizio Montalti is the contact person, alongside other colleagues, for the management of the waiting lists of the Prosthetic Surgery department.
