The Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute has been the seat of the university orthopaedic clinic since the beginning of the 20th century, testifying to a vocation for didactics felt since its origins. More recently, as IRCCS (title granted by the Italian Ministry of Health to biomedical institutions of relevant national interest), the Institute has developed a particular commitment to teaching, training and dissemination of new knowledge as well as assistance and research.
