Molecular biology methods: extraction of nucleic acids from biological matrices and single cell, quantification (qPCR; ddPCR) and DNA amplification (PCR), primer design, DNA QC (Bioanalyzer, Fragment analyzer), CGH Array, RT-PCR, Sanger sequencing and minisequencing on ABI 3100 and ABI 3500 instruments. Analysis of STR and SNPs profiles and Copy Number Variations (CNV). Preparation of genomic libraries for NGS sequencing (Ion Torrent, Illumina). Use of automated platforms (Hamilton). Presumptive and confirmatory tests from biological traces and inference of the corresponding genetic profile. Protein purification and quantification by Bradford, Western Blot.

Cell biology methods: maintenance of cell cultures (tumour lines, yeasts, bacteria, mesenchymal stem cells), preparation of slides for optical microscopy, fluorescence and electron transmission analysis. Cell viability, proliferation and oxidative stress testing. 

Previous experience in microbiological analysis methods: microscopic examination of bacterial colonies, preparation of soils, preparation of antibiograms, agglutination tests and typing of bacterial strains.

Solid knowledge of Microsoft office package. Expertise in, molecular biology and population analysis software and clinical database editor: GeneMapper ID X, Arlequin, Primer3, ClustalW, REDCap.
