A space for the children of the eployees and patients of the hospital
April 17th, 2023Today, the Children’s Space of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute was inaugurated, a project designed for the children of employees and users who access the hospital or the polyclinic. It is located on the ground floor of the monumental building of the hospital and will welcome children between 3 and 6 years old, from Monday to Friday (in the morning, from 8 am to 1 pm). Through games, books and customized decors, children will be welcomed by professional educators with the support of volunteers of the associations Clown 2.0, which co-designed the service, Agito and Ansabbio.
The aim of the project is to help parents, in the case of patients who enter the hospital they can rely on a specially organized environment to entrust their children for the necessary time to benefits, but also to provide for employees a tool (especially in contingent situations) that can contribute to the reconciliation of life-work balance.
The Children’s Space, is now in an experimental phase and is part of the project " Vengo anch’io? Sì tu sì! L’ospedale verso le famiglie” created by the The Guarantee Committee for equal opportunities, welfare of workers and against discrimination (CUG) of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute and funded by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Department of Family Policies.
Starting from tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18, reservations for the Children’s Space are open, which activities will start from April 26. The space can accommodate a maximum of six children at the same time: it is recommended to book the desired days and times, you can also access without the booking reservation but only if the maximum capacity has not been reached.
