The "Simple Structure" Research Administration of the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute performs infrastructural activities for research in orthopedics. In particular, it supports and manages the administrative, legal and financial aspects of the Institute's scientific research activities with reference to:

• administrative support for the presentation of projects under national and international calls for proposals and the definition of the related budget;
• management of research funding, deriving from both participation in competitive and non-competitive calls for proposals, with attention to compliance with the regulations and guidelines of the funders and the financial reporting required by the calls for proposals;
• management of funding deriving from commercial activities including the related debt collection;
• legal negotiation and definition of contracts functional to research: collaborative research agreements, commercial research contracts, Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) contracts, No Disclosure Agreement (NDA) contracts, contracts for clinical trials of a profit and non-profit nature, co-ownership, co-management, licensing and assignment of patents;
• awarding of research scholarship contracts in accordance with the provisions of the relevant company regulations.
